Majority of vehicles sold in Canada today are equipped with ADAS sensors located behind the windshield. The camera based sensors monitor driving conditions, lanes, signs, vehicles, pedestrians and other obstacles in order to make driving safer and less stressful.
When a windshield is replaced, the calibration of these camera based sensors needs to be adjusted by trained professionals using specialized equipment. Calibration ensures that the ADAS performs the way it was intended by the manufacturer. Auto Glass Depot is fully equipped and certified to perform ADAS calibration for all vehicle makes and models.

The system notifies a driver in the event of approaching another object or a vehicle too closely.
The system does everything a Forward Collision Alert does, and applies the brakes automatically.
The Adaptive Cruise Control adapts the speed of the vehicle based on the speed of the vehicle in the front, and continuously maintains a safe distance.
Lane departure warning system monitors the driving habits, and if a vehicle changes lanes without a signal, notifies the driver via vibrations, sound or both.
Lane keep assist works similar to lane departure warning, but it also applies corrective steering input to bring the vehicle back to its lane.
There are 2 main types of calibration; static calibration and dynamic calibration.
Static calibration is performed while the vehicle is stationary using specialized electronics indicated and lasers.
Dynamic calibration is performed via a specialized unit that plugs in to OBD II port of a vehicle, and certain driving maneuvers are performed.
Cost of ADAS calibration depends on the vehicle and the procedure specified by the manufacturer. Some vehicles require only static or dynamic calibration, while some require both. The cost of the calibration is typically covered under insurance plans that covers windshield replacement.
